Abracadebra - Mean Green Reinvention of Your Old Stuff
Abracadebra is the division of Magick Home Makeovers that specializes in reinventing furnishings.
  • Have you inherited pieces from aging parents that have downsized and nothing goes with your house?
  • Are you unable to part with some things for sentimental value or a sense of responsibility to someone, but you really would like to know how to make them work with what you have now, enhancing your decor insteading of making it look shabby?
It takes a little expertise to do "eclectic" design with a mix of styles and ages of furniture and furnishings.
I specialize in finding ways for you to keep everything you love and make it work together.  

I love to design a room with a mix of the new and the old by reinventing the old in surprising new ways!

I began with four solid wood chairs with good bones and elegant lines, hand sanded and stained them espresso with a varathane seal. Then I added new high density foam.

I reupholstered the seats
with a gorgeous fabric that was a great find.  Originally almost forty dollars a metre, this textured graphic print upholstery weight fabric
looks rich in chocolate
and tan.

Four reinvented dining chairs.  The style they are closest to
would be Queen Anne.

The table is amazing too, it has two inserts.  When fully extended it seats ten.

 It is a work in progress and not
being offered yet.  It's two heavy pedestals echo the carving around
the edge of the table top, which has pronounced diagonal grain.
